What the job actually is

A class is about twenty people who are two days away from sitting for their Texas insurance exam. You are the instructor at the front of the room. We supply the curriculum, the slides, the classroom, and the training — you bring the ability to teach and the willingness to learn the course.

  • Week oneLife and Health.
  • Week twoProperty and Casualty.
  • Two instructors rotatingYou take the weeks that suit you and skip the ones that don’t.

Who this tends to fit

The retired or semi-retired licensee

You spent a career doing this. Two days a month, $500, teaching material you know cold — against a calendar that is otherwise empty.

The working self-employed agent

You have the time and you want to pad the income. And a room of people entering the industry is not a bad room for an agent to be standing in.

On that last point, we will say it plainly: instructors are allowed to build relationships out of the classes they teach. What we ask is that you don’t pitch from the front of the room during class, and you don’t recruit Ace Prep’s own staff. If that’s part of why the job interests you, say so on the form — it’s a reasonable motive and we would rather hear it.

What we need from you

  • The ability to teach and learn the course. A Texas insurance license is preferred, but not required.
  • The ability to be in a Fort Worth classroom for two consecutive weekdays.
  • Willingness to stand in front of about twenty people for those two days.

That’s the list. Teaching experience is genuinely not required — we train that part, and some of the best classroom instructors we’ve seen had never taught before they started.
